The South rose again when the Drone Rangers hosted our 10th International Convention. This gathering was rich with music—the program even included a songbook—and with games, a room having been set aside for just that purpose; it included an indoor miniature golf course. An appropriate ground was found for cricket-minded players, who went to bat sporting TWSCC badges designed by Jean Tillson. Those not playing cricket could go on tours to NASA or San Jacinto. Friday evening’s reception was enlivened by a challenge to set Charlotte Mulliner’s “Good Gnus” to music, which was met admirably and hilariously by four very different renditions. Many then departed to see a production of Oh, Kay! The good times continued on Saturday with an excellent lineup of talks and a new, tailor-made skit from the NEWTS. At the banquet that evening, Blandings Castle presented a rib-tickling reading of “The Story of William”; afterwards, we adjourned to watch a fortuitous display of fireworks in the city.
