We Need Your Help!
Unfortunately, membership in The Wodehouse Society has been falling off over the years, and we find ourselves having to contemplate the dissolution of TWS within the next decade if this trend continues.
Since readers of Wodehouse are our target audience, a simple thing you can do to help us increase membership is distribute TWS bookmarks in your area. Carry them in your wallet or purse, and place them in Wodehouse books wherever you see them. Likely places include bookstores and libraries (ask permission first, of course). Another option is to donate Wodehouse books with the bookmarks already in them. Used-book stores, library book sales, little free libraries, and senior centers are all good options.
It’s easy to create your own supply of bookmarks. Just download this PDF file or click/tap the button below, then print it on heavy paper or card stock, in any colors you like. Note: Set the printing for landscape mode and double-sided printing. if your printer has the option to print on the long or short edge, choose the short edge. Once you have printed your bookmarks, you can cut them to size and then start distributing. How easy is that?
And there’s another way you can help! If you happen to be attending a Wodehouse theater production or some other Wodehouse-related event, why not print out a supply of TWS informational trifold brochures to bring along? See if the theater or venue is agreeable to putting out the brochures first, of course. You can also bring the brochures to bookstores with good quantities of Wodehouse titles on their shelves. Indeed, bring the brochures to any place where it seems appropriate and helpful to spread the joyful word about the Master.
To print the brochure, download this PDF file or click/tap the button below and print it on standard paper. Like the bookmarks, printing should be for landscape double-sided printing, and flip the paper on the short edge. Then simply fold it in three and—voila! You’ll have a lovely brochure with a lot of nifty information about the society in it to share with potential new members.
